Midlands such as Coventry airport now showing 33c. It could get close to the record elsewhere!

33c here in south-west London (where I'm working today).

Maximum yesterday was 29c but wonderful to get back to lowland East London and a beautiful refreshing breeze off the river. Wonder if that will be present this evening.

Thankyou! Observations from your neck of the woods are crucial in what we have an hour or so down the line in the London area today.Temps holding steady at 32c and 33c around London under cloudier skys,an injection of Sun from 1330 could see sky rocketing temperatures again with the July record smashed.

Feeling unnerved about the latest tornado risk from TORRO, has me right in the firing line of potential right movers!

I'll be chasing today if anything crops up!

Temperature still slowly climbing here, at 32.1.  Mostly clear still, a little high level cloud.  Forecasts still look to be indicating it will be dry around here, but I'm not ruling out the chance of some storms later, keeping an eye on the radar.

Think that should start to rise again soon as cloud is clearing from the south

Temperatures here stopped rising mid-morning at the 27c level when some white cloud pushed in. It's clearing a bit at a time from the south with some blue patches now visible and the temp has quickly risen to the current 28.7c. Humidity of 49% not too bad for the moment, though it does feel very warm out there.

... S/SE ENGLAND, E MIDLANDS and E ANGLIA ...

As mentioned in Day 1 outlook, thunderstorms, mainly elevated, are indicated by most models to spread NE from the English Cannel/N France across S and SE England Thursday morning, as plume destabilised ahead of cold front further west. UKMO indicates storms arriving by 6am across far S/SE England before spreading N/NE across E Midlands and E Anglia during the morning and early afternoon, before the cold front clears east introducing drier and fresher conditions from the west later in the afternoon. 40-50 knts of DL shear will be sufficient for multicell clusters or line segments given time of day and elevated nature of storms, capable of producing hail, torrential rain leading to flash flooding, marginally strong gusty winds and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning. A marginal risk is maintained here from the Day 1 outlook.

... EIRE, N IRELAND ...

GFS indicates 400-700 j/kg CAPE across the above areas in the afternoon, so scattered heavy shower and a few thunderstorms appear likely, though with less warmth and humidity and weak DL shear, no severe weather is anticipated.

Not sure if anyone missed this...
