Fog and drizzle again this morning but, unlike yesterday,  the fog has lifted in the last few minutes and patches of blue sky are visible.

A few clear patches overnight but completely cloudy again now.

Whats caused this high to become choked with cloud? I was expecting yesterdays fog to just burn off, but it lifted into low cloud which hasnt budged. Nearly every high since 2013 has done this; 2 days of sun then fills with muck.

Similar thing happened last September^^ sunny Monday/Tuesday then the high filled with gloom and the sun never reappeared all month, hopefully judging by the 06z there's still hope yet, tomorrow and Friday nice at least.

More north sea grot today here, sun still not broke through, 15.8c

Conor -

You sent your Telford weather to Solihull!!!

Despite/Inspite of forecasts of the cloud breaking about midday by the BBC, it suddenly cleared about 18:00. Typical . Recognize it do you!

The temperature has continued to rise into the evening and now stands at a days high of 17.3C.

So finally the drier air has arrived from the continent.

I have just watched Shafalleh on MIds news say that it was disappointing today, but for me what was even worse that she is now forecasting heavy rain for friday night. Where has my saturday golf in nice weather gone!

I blame Telford for this! :D :D :D

No sun here...for the 3rd day in a row. If anything the fog has thickened in the last hour!

Just been out and it's actually drizzling. We wait 3 months for a high and it gives the same weather as all the lows!

Nothing higher than 18C this month. Last 20C was on Aug 24th, first of the year was June 4th. Neither May nor September topping 20C hasn't happened in the last 40 years.

Glad I headed out West on Sunday now that the rugrats have disappeared.

Here in normally wet Wales we've had glorious almost cloudless sunny skies.

This morning any light mist has almost all burnt off now and temp 13.5 and climbing.

I think we'll be in-line for the rain before the Midlands tomorrow afternoon.

Overcast here (surprise!) though it does seem a little brighter than yesterday, so here's hoping. But yes, this little settled spell has been very disappointing. I've found myself looking forward to next week: although it'll be wet and windy, we'll presumably get the odd sunny interval between the rain bands, which may well add up to more than we've had this week!

Gorgeous afternoon here. 22c. Here, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire look to be the warmest in the country today. :)

Fog/Low Cloud took longer to burn off than expected but was in work anyway so who cares, sunny and warm after work pity it's to low in the year to catch in the evenings, max of 20.8c

Eeek wraparound of the low dragging out longer than expected this morning (looks like just moving into a Squall line), very dark and gusty with heavy downpours at times, 13.9c.

Still hoping for a sunny afternoon!

Luckily cleared away now, brightened up though very gusty with a lot of cloud over Wales, here's hoping it dissolves away like BBC are saying!

Edit: Looks like usually Saturday write off, overcast skies quickly blasted back in.
