Funny how we get reports of how humid it is, yet it's not expected to rise signficantly until later this evening, in to tonight.

It's only at 55% here, feels fine in this wind.

As i put in a post earlier today; "Dorset and Wilthsire eastwards, south of the M4" are the words used by the MetO. Quite promising sj! :)

Re humidity It could be the breeze dropping and people reporting it have no measuring equipt

Hello Neighbour, I seriously think the best bet to view the lightning coming in from a distant (if it reaches that is) You need to go either South Side of the Island or the West, the view from culver is far east, and the lightning will be behind ventnor downs, if you get what im saying

Yea, was thinking that after looking at radar again, oh and Hi neighbour :)

Ventnor downs, or maybe further on then there, where are you and Jamie going to head if you go out :)

The band of storms seem to be dying on the western edge. And looks like when it all reaches as far as the western side of the PPN has storm potential will decrease. We need the warm front to pass over with daytime heating tomorrow it will be allot more interesting

Not sure where you are getting that from? The air still needs to destabilise further!

Updated fax charts:

Looking good for much of Southern England throughout tomorrow afternoon & evening.

Advection of warmer, humid airmass behind warm front.

Surface trough followed by cold front and another surface trough behind.

Should be able to see distant lightning from here once darkness falls. As others have said, very dark cloud rolling in.

After tomorrows storms it looks like the rain will stall a bit further south than previously expected and in line with this mornings GFS

Looks like western extent of the band has actually completely stopped in terms of lightning. A bit of a shame.
