Wonderful light show here and nice rumbles of thunder with a few cracks too. By no means the best you will ever see, but I'm loving this! Big convective drops of rain now.

Some lovely lightning though, and impressive clouds. It' not over yet either. We are not Kansas over here you know, but we do know how to do a storm. Be careful what you wish for...

If I never see another thunderstorm I'd be happy. I just don't get the love for these, if you're in a city its not so bad but here it inevitably ends up in power cuts, trees down. Last August saw a horror show, I had a bad feeling when I saw the red echo expanding as it headed east south of Orthez, it was like the Day After Tomorrow with the blackest sky I've ever seen.

Lots of trees down, power cuts, no phone or internet for 5 days. For this reason I have little time for thunderstorms and break out into hives at the mere suggestion they might appear!

I am getting all giddy like a child on Christmas morning! Hopefully they make it up here.

At least GFS 18z is showing widespread 24'c, because that's what's need for our explosive convection tomorrow!

Slight shift north with instability too covers more SE Midlands!

I wonder how far north these are going to get, not sure if I should go for a little chase or stay here.

I'm staying put at the moment lol I should go somewhere rather than here because the protective dome normally goes up around Aylesbury lol and everything passes west or eat of here hahahaha

On Bournemouth clifftop. Some lovely CGs over the sea and deeeeep rumbles. Not as elevated as 17 July last year.

Seen a fair few bright flashes on that Bournemouth webcam.

Two separate shots (about 90 seconds between):

I've got a site visit tomorrow, so I'm hoping to see some action.

Telford to Towcester, getting to Towcester for about 08:30. Probably leaving about 11:00, then will go A43 to pick up the M40 near Oxford. Then back to the office at Wolves.

Fingers.

Crossed.

watching the bournemouth webcam at the same time as the lightning on bitzortung. Im amazed by how accurate that actually is. One massive flash and at the same time the map lit up on the south coast. Interestingly some bolts appearing further east now. Any ideas? Anvil crawlers maybe?
