Them Thunderstorms now around the south/south/east of Birmingham are on the way up here.

I'm afraid to say it but these are just pulse storms. Nothing to get too excited about - even if you do get sferis you'll be staring at the same bit of night for 10 mins before there's even the remotest chance you'll see much more.

Very disorganised and random distribution. You're probably all better off going to bed

Edit: he says as a MASSIVE flash and thunder about 3 secs later!!!!!

Lovely super doo dah! just popped outside to check v still and quiet and warm, no wind, saw a big lightning flash somewhere north of us, but through cloud. Better than nothing :-)

Them Thunderstorms now around the south/south/east of Birmingham are on the way up here.

they're miles away from Birmingham!...a good 50+ miles!  As they're low intensity, they'll do very well to reach Brum
