Its raining, so a welcome feature for my gardens. Nice big convective droplets. Come on thunder!

Kind of all quiet on the western front. Literally, the front to my west. Very dark skies but no real activity looking likely just yet. When is the deadline for all the convection?

I'm glad of the rain. The garden and my hayfever needs it.

Very potent looking cells sprouting up over lincs, and a whopper over Leicester which is now electrified. Got my eye on these.

Storms seem to be dying off as they get into the forecast zones.

The most irritating thing about today that I can't get over has been the stubborn cloud cover. Practically all day.

If it wasn't for this we would have perfect conditions for convection and everything wouldn't die-off as it approaches.

Don't want to have to drive for miles when by rights the storms should make it to where I am anyway.

Not impressed (again).

Ooh, was that another rumble, or was it the noises inside my brain?

It's all died off. Is that our lot for today then? Don't see how there can be much energy left in the atmosphere seeing as the sun never really came out at all today.

Oh, must have been my insanity!

Wow, that heavy shower produced a beautiful double rainbow. Also, the lights flickered on and off in my entire street. Is that a sign of electrical activity? It's finished now.

Very active over the Lincolnshire fens. Deep layer shear could be fuelling this, and looks to be back building too. Seen some decent lightning from it. What an evening it's been in this part!

With the sun down I find it hard to believe this echo will make it to where I am with electrical activity still within. GFS does forecast MLCAPE slowly dying as passes me. The skew t did forecast cape for my area late evening and the forecast table 89j/kg at 10pm, not a lot I know but what the hell that blob is getting closer.

Have seen a few really bright lightning in the distance and have also heard some distant rolling thunder. Doesn't look to be over yet according to the radar. MLCAPE and theta-E helping with this little lot now.
