Keeping looking south the sky got dark around 20 minutes before it arrived here its easing off here now thunder can still be heard in the distance but the lightning has stopped

If its out like we had the thunder is unreal

Saw two strikes out of that storm that passed over harrogate, glad I've at

least seen something at such an early stage :)

For us in leeds keep an eye further south, if something can develop there then we really will be in a prime location heading into this evening.

My worst fear last night was that big storms develop over us, but only become fully mature once north of us. This has happened with the darlo storm but still very early days!

Yup, although it was bloody spectacular developing over us!

Is there any likelihood of anything developing S and W of the storm in N Yorks? It's gone overcast here, it's 33c, and claggy. I'm not holding much hope tbh.

Possible severe situation about to arise on Tyneside? Storm looks like it has begun splitting off to the right somewhat.

Has cloud cover ruined the 'main show' over NW England and Southern Scotland? Still no signs of anything firing yet and light rain is moving into the area ;( No updates recently from any of the more knowledgeable either... Praying it doesn't bust.

It's bound to do, newcastle seems to be a magnet for those big storms....

That storm over Tyneside does look like it's becoming severe. Potentially dangerous situation for Newcastle if it keeps up.

Still plenty of time but I do agree the cloud cover is slightly concerning. Newcastle is getting hammered right now, wow

well, there's nothing around me and the sun is shining, but something strange is going on....

steadily, over the last 10 mins, all 5 of our cats have come inside and settled to sleep. not seen hide nor hair of them while it's been nice weather over the last few days (except for meal times)
