Three little clusters of showers have followed on behind the main band this morning, putting a dampner on any early morning clearance, but hopefully things should start to clear up for the afternoon.

Poor day in the end with this mornings heavy rain turning to showers without even seeing the joint and the forecast clearance not arriving here until mid afternoon.

Autumn is definitely here.

Poor start but I don't think it was that bad.

It must be with ourselves being further east and higher up that the rain hung around for longer.

At least tomorrow is looking pretty good providing that system down south stays there.

Just got back from shopping in Manchester and although dry, a bit on the chilly side, even with the sun out.

Pretty well full cloud cover now but all in all, not a bad day, certainly after yesterday's washout.

Yes after a sunny morning the cloud seemed to move over fairly quickly during the afternoon.

No doubt rain isn't far behind.

indeed , some huge beer snakes at the cricket too !!.

No better atmosphere than a cricket international and with enough beer, even the result doesn't matter.

Anyway things are looking up here.....the suns back out.

was going to go but to close to comming back from hols !!...

I've been to a few at Old Trafford over the years and the odd one at Headingley

I've also seen the other England play at Wembley and 80 thousand fans couldn't hold a candle to the noise made by a quarter of that at the northern test grounds, especially when beer starts to play a part....albeit a friendly part.
