Lovely day ,20 c and sun :)..

Same here, dry and mainly sunny and feeling pleasantly warm but more satisfying still was knowing that much of the country as getting soaked while we were unusually coming out best.

One weather event I'm glad we missed out on.

Caught that brilliant sun dog on the timelapse from 2.15 to 2.20

Sun dog looked good.

A lovely day really especially when you consider how different it would have been with a hundred mile northwest shift of the system.

Some threatening looking skies but dry so far.

Another decent day really.

There will be plenty of darkness and only limited daylight.

Christmas will come just after the start of it and Easter after it finishes.

Other than that it's all up for grabs although your probably right with mild and wet, especially with the papers forecasting the worst winter for a gazillion years.

I think it'll be cold and crispy with little precipitation :(.. Allegedly :0..

I'd take that now if offered.

Maybe a bit of snow now and then to make for perfect walking conditions but dry and crisp will suit me.

Certainly a chill in the air this evening, felt quite cool walking

The dog, as for winter this year at this stage no one can say

How it will turn out, dispite all the tripe the tabloids are spouting

Out, for me a repeat of 2010 will make me very happy, but

With a more wintry February than 2010.

How about a repeat of

December 2010

January 1982

February 1979

March 2013

And a bit of late April 1981 thrown in to give winter a good send off.

I think by then we would be wanting some better weather.

Yuk March 2013 still have nightmare s over that missed that

Event by a few miles due to the Rain Shadow.

no it has to be 2010 for me the clear very cold nights, got

down to a bone chilling -19 at Manchester Airport, never been

out in that temperature in this country, followed by the heavy

snowfall, lovely memories, please more of the same this year

We are due a wintry February so if we are only allowed one bad month I'll take my repeat of February 1979.

Day after day of snow and high winds, blizzard conditions and snow drifts 15 feet deep around here.

Oh and snow not being cleared, rubbish piling up and bodies not being buried but that was more to do with worker power than the weather gods.

Turning out to be a far better week then expected at the back end of last week when it was looking a potential washout. Yesterday was highly unusual, a glorious blue sky almost clear sky with wall to wall sunshine little wind, yet were firmly under low pressure, how did that happen? We were the best part of the country again quite unusual. The month as a whole has been preety dry here, in the last 2 weeks we've only had one spell of notable rain and that was overnight/early last Saturday. We are forecast some heavy showery downpours tonight, and perhaps a rogue shower tomorrow, but then another very decent weekend.

Its also been a notably cool September so far, with very chilly mornings and daytime highs only just around average, and on a number of days around the 13-15 degree mark below the 16-18 degree average.

Many recent Septembers have been fairly dry benign affairs, last year exceptionally so, but also preety mild/warm affairs, a cool dry September did occur though in 2012, but they have been a rare occurrence in recent decades, 1986 being the last notably cool dry one.

Put my clothes out based on the forecast that it was going to be dry this afternoon and lo and behold they're soaking wet within a couple of minutes. I'm not impressed.

Had some towers with dark threatening bases ,but no rain , Suns back out now :)..

Nothing here other a bit of damp first thing this morning.

Some lofty clouds about but another nice days weather to end what has been a decent week and other than last Saturday, probably a couple of weeks.

It's just a shame that our seasons are about 3 months out of sinc with the calendar as yet again we wait all summer for dry summer weather only to see it arrive in autumn.
