Colder westerly, then north westerly winds should follow soon.  Still wet here, mostly rain, but the odd sleet mixed in.

absolute pasting of snow for an hour or so here int north lakes

huge giant fat double 50p sized flakes at a rate of torrential rain

stopped now but lets hope there's much more to come and the very healthy cover of snow survives!

Seems I made a great decision about going to Llangollen way tomorrow, as it would appear 3-500m around that area had quite a covering, which will freeze overnight. Perfect!

Well it looks like snow on the cctv cameras, but it seems to be coming down too fast for snow, melting on impact maybe, but its too quiet as we have knackered guttering and when it rains you can hear it pouring down outside from the gutter and the speed this is coming down i should hear something but im not doing....maybe i should just not be a lazy pig and go outside an take a look!! Lol

Must be a huge mild sector, still raining here up at 200m- places at sea level to the North west of me have seen snow.

Any hope of a snowy landscape are draining away , fast, its far too wet.

The Irish Sea is above average temp wise. Anyone within 10 miles of the coast can forget snow in this spell IMO

Even at close to 400m it is only just settling on the M62 summit. For now lower ground can forget it in eastern parts of the region.

I get the feeling that this Winter has only just started proper so plenty of opportunities for the region from now into March, fingers crossed. Things look a lot better than just a couple of weeks ago. :)

Not budging from 1.3°C now and just a sleety mess coming down. Might as well get some sleep, I expect to see a green landscape with white tipped hills in the morning :)

Yep, im working nights so i got to sit and watch it lol.

No chance of anything approaching white round here, really do need an easterly for this part of the world, you know its grim when its snowing in liverpool from a north westerly and up in peninnes at 200m its rain.

It happened the other year and i could not believe it then.

Just drove to the highest point in Runcorn (120m ASL) as it was sleeting at my level where I am. And even up there it's just sleet. Not gonna happen tonight unfortunately. Not cold enough. Rubbish
