As others report heavy sleet at Anfield good game as well looks like

The colder air is digging in earlier than expected.

A lot of graupel in it too.

Would imagine so, as log as nothing drastic ha me changed. I don't remember the -5c 850hpa isotherm reaching us until about 3am.

Still huge raindrops and partially melted snow flakes here. It will turn if this keeps up. If this is what it's like now then what on earth could it be like later.

turned light again now and back to normal rain. As the colder uppers dig in later, evaporative cooling should be more effective at pulling down the WBFL to the  surface.

Still only sleet here but hopefully the heavier band now crossing the region will give some hope.
