Well if Mild, Wet, Windy Atlantic muck is your thing then this week is for you.

Hate this weather, Grey, damp and mild everyday.  Looks like we wont see any sunshine either. Complete bore fest.. Zzzzzzz

And to think people on here was moaning because a couple weeks back it was only showing falling snow for some and not Blizzards...I for one would much prefer that excitement each week :)

Indeed, many factors this year lean towards a more mild and mobile winter

Isnt always the case though - would love to know when metoffice (or other professional orgs)  predicted a more blocked/colder winter. At least MO appear to be considering the possibility of a colder end to this winter - phew !

As I said above yes, but generally the longer term factors do not fancy a cooler than normal winter, they point towards a milder one.

Will be interesting to see how it all pans out

Not all of them - Eurasian snow cover is favouring an SSW later in the winter.

awful out, the chilly side of mild and  the clouds are spitting right in your face. Horrible to walk against and relentless.

At least the house is cosy. =)

Just a lot of rather dire weather to get through before we get there. I guess there are other things to look forward to in the mean time (Christmas).

A rather bland and breezy day here with occasional rain and grey skies.

It needs to make up it's mind if it's going to rain or not, really.

Very gusty now, moreso than anything we've had in the last 24 hours.

Interesting west to east and narrow feature on the radar currently - moving south.

Crikey, the absence of 'cold' has hit the MOD thread big time.

Anyone would think someone has died!

I more then anyone would love this mild Atlantic crap to do one & be be replaced with cold and snowy weather, but it isn't going to happen. This side of Christmas at least.

A lot to look forward to, Christmas party's, going to the pub with family & friends and Christmas Day.

Hopefully January will deliver!

Speaking of depressing.. It's 1st of December tomorrow and the weather is grey cloud with a balmy 14c.. Yuk!!

Not to mention that if my memory serves me correctly the big snow years of 2009 and 2010 didn't show anything in the long range either. I honestly don't know why people place their entire happiness on a quite inaccurate model that's several weeks down the line.

Yes, Tamara was really criticised (but not in name) for her preferred "discursive" format; I felt that this unfair sniping was a consequence of coldies getting frustrated at the lack of cold signals in the models at present.  As a moderate coldie myself, I'd love to see something more "wintry" showing, but, as yet, nothing.

Regarding tht squall line, I just saw a members' status update mentioning how weird it is.  Almost has the appearance of anaprop, but I presume it is genuine.

Light drizzle is the usual meaning of a "smear".

Something looks to be brewing by Middle December, a freeze up in the week leading up to Christmas? We've experienced it before....

AS others have mentioned all got a bit "eggy" in the Mod thread tonight. Not sure if it is frustration of lack of cold weather on the horizon or not but technically we still have an hour before winter actually starts!!.Think December will be slightly milder than average this year but will cool as month progresses and I am quite optimistic for Jan and Feb to give us a couple of cold spells and some decent snow to the SE.

Back to the here and now and it has been another mild day but yet again we have failed to see the sun again. Although I work outside and am quite thankful of mild temps it would be nice to see the sun a bit more. We really have had a lack of sun in last 3-4 weeks and it is getting quite depressing as today it seemed to be dark about 3.40 today and we still have 3 weeks till shortest day in terms of daylight hours!!!!!!.

At least with mild temps we can all save a few quid on our heating bills :D  :D
