Another wind warning for Monday. Latest GFS has it further South and deeper too

2016-2-1

Southwesterly winds will strengthen later on Sunday to bring gale or severe gale force winds across many northern and central parts of the UK through Monday. Gusts of 60-70 mph are likely quite widely, with gusts to around 80 mph possible, particularly in exposed parts of the northwest and perhaps locally to the east of high ground.

I  know ms I'm just preparing myself to be disappointed again. No science involved just a hunch but I think most are going to be disappointed tonight.

Latest BBC weather just mentioned blizzard conditions through the night. I will just be happy to see some snow on the ground!

Let's hope our snow-shield gives in, looks as if overcast is likely *touch wood* but there's always a chance we miss it.

I fail to see what you mean regarding a snow shield around Derry. We always do well in these set ups. Not so much yourself being close to the river. We had 1 or 2 great events last January in this type of polar maritime set ups. If you don't get much lying snow then if you drive then jump in the car and head 10/15 mins out the road and you will get your snow fix.

BBC Changed online forecast again.. video forecast still telling a different story. Let's hope for a good one for everyone including the East who seem to have been deprived of snow.

The wind is still howling out there, could be some great blizzards. The strong winds likely to push further inland so hopefully we all get a good hit .

The only trouble with the wind is surely it means the showers pass through quicker?

Yeah, I'd say so. It could be a issue for coastal areas but it would be a different scene when the stuff actually falls. Possible blizzards!
