Garden's rapidly turning into a swimming pool again. What I'd give for all this to be snow! Seriously...I'd sell a kidney... :D

Just got this email

Location:Chertsey Bourne including Virginia Water, Thorpe Green and Chertsey and the Moat at Thorpe
View map of Flood Alert area
Region:SoutheastLatest Information:
The River and Flooding forecast is as follows: Levels on the Chertsey Bourne are slightly higher than normal for this time of year in the Chertsey area. Flooding of low lying land and roads is possible. Levels are stabilise but with rain showers this evening and overnight, the river levels are forecast to rise again over the next 24 hours. Property flooding is not currently expected. The weather prospects are for showers overnight which may be heavy and merging to give longer periods of rain. The night will become drier after midnight. Sunday will bring the odd shower but will be mainly dry.

So many have complained about the handling of this river local to me, there is a guy who has land that runs along side it and it always gets flooded

had an intense burst of rain here about an hour ago, with hail. I was looking out for lightning but nothing, not even a distant flicker.

Just for fun. The pub run would produce interest for some

That little feature produces snow to low levels.

Modele GFS - Carte prévisions

A couple of inches over the hills (Chilterns), but produces a  centimetre in the London area.

It will be gone next run though, especially as it is the GFS.

Some intense heavy downpours through the night, some was hail. It was making a right old noise against the windows.

Cracking charts this morning, puts us in the game also and we are now entering almost the reliable timeframe.

Interesting week ahead, lots to look at & learn.

I do not want to sound like I'm ramping but I really do think we could be in the swee spot by the end of the week, I can see accumulations for some in London & South East because these events never go as per charts.

I wouldn't get too excited about our prospects towards the end of next week regarding snow - marginal conditions at best I would have thought. At least it looks a certainty for some air frosts which we haven't seen at all this winter and a few cold days once we're under the influence of high pressure (for a while).

Nice to get something wintry out of the sky. Even if it is just convective hail.

Agreed KB.

Not as marginal as you think tbh the precipitation coincides luckily for us with lowering dew points and colder upper air temperatures being dragged in, furthermore the timing is also very beneficial when it is colder, based on this most would wake up on Friday morning with a smattering of white stuff. I would have thought the intensity and duration could give a lucky few a few inches most likely north of London. Enough to safisfy us snow starved mortals, 1cm would do me lol! :D

Precipitation:

850s:

no real concern

Dew points

may start in the positive territory when precip arrives equating to wet stuff but it will increasingly turn to snow for just about all, as sub zero dew points filter in.

Overall it is best chance of some accumulating 'widespread' snow since 2013 says it all. I'm not really expecting much but I'd like to be proven wrong. Fingers, toes, arms, legs crossed.
