Stunning day in old Stroud, Just missed the fog overnight last night with a low of -5c in the garden, was a bitter crisp and sunny morning temps didn't get above freezing in the shade, then the fog rolled in about 2pm giving the whole day a really wintry feel. Currently blooming freezing and still frosty everywhere.

Haven't checked out the models yet so will now venture into the MOD thread.......lol.....

Put a tentative toe in the MAD thread, seems there's vague promise of more cold weather in a week or so - perhaps. Fingers crossed we'll get enough to at least try to replicate this picture - stunning, isn't it.

I also forgot to share a photo with you all from yesterday, we went into the woods in Firestone copse Forest, was as frost yesterday but we had a cool little Misty thing going on in the forest which was capturing the sunrays, but I wanted to try something different and went for an elementary type of shot

Hello All.

Last night the temp got lower than I imagined here with a low of -7.0. Cloud and milder air is approaching from the SW so nothing on this scale again for a while it seems.

But you've got to hope, without hope what else have we got, especially down here in the SW.

the past couple of day have been certainly more like it....crisp and cold with copious frost and ice, it struggled to get above 0C today.....another cold start to the night with frost readily reforming.....looks like somewhat milder weather is incoming, but can't complain, at least we had 2 cold days!

Clouded over, milder air pushing in. On the plus side I won't have to run outside 15 mins before I leave for work and the wife does the school run to de-ice the cars, every cloud has a milder lining .....

:ninja: I'll get my coat

For heaven's sake, now a potentially DRY and mild weekend is looking rather wet. Really is back to square one - out with the winter coat, and in with the anorak.

Hate to have to say it but we are running out of winter again... nothing really looking cold into first week of February by which point we have 2/3 weeks chance of something noteworthy before sun starts to get stronger and being in mildest place in UK we are against the clock, before you know it 3 back to back snowless winters... :cc_confused:

March 2013 was exceptional in terms of cold but also an exceptional bust for west country with no proper snow falls.
