Wow look at the back edge of this frontal system. Should be quite a change when it passes through.

Looking forward to that sudden clearance arriving here in due course after an awful morning.

I have been thinking that the (just about) week of cold conditions were a lucky blip in this otherwise monotonous mild (warm even) winter. Hard to think that it's just 48 hours ago that the ground was frozen, it seems a distant dream.

Nice spring day out, 13.7C and sunny.

What was your lowest of the cold spell? To work out how much the temp has changed in just over 48 hours.

Yeovilton is 20c warmer now than it was on Wednesday morning!!!

Interesting history fact I found on my website..

Isn't that some of the areas being affected today?

If only this month could have gone the same way as 87 over here too..

I had -4.1C, not as low as many places to the east as I think the coldest air didn't quite make it, or the gradient around the high pressure was a bit too strong down here and mixed the air a little, it had actually risen to 0C by sunrise. Still quite difference though, -4.1C to 13.9C is 18C.

Looks good. I was hoping for a perfect line when that passed over, it turned out to be crap- surprised me to be honest.

Not like the one that passed over on Easter Saturday 2009 (11th April).  Not seen one that clear cut since.

It was clear and 4.8c half an hour ago, now turning foggy with low cloud too.

Today's interest lies in how quickly the front and rain moves in later, BBC forecast suggests Plymouth at 13.00 and Bristol by 15.00.

Precisely my point! Interest in rain band timings! Which for me may adversely affect outdoor events for which I would far prefer clear, cold and dry!
