Warmth and humidity really starting to ratchet up now, despite no meaningful budge in the cloud cover yet. Makes a nice change from the autumnal chill of this week. Could be another couple of hours yet before this awful grey scourge buggers off out of it!

Out of interest @William Grimsley, I trust that when you're older you'll be relocating somewhere between Dungeness (Kent) and Lincolnshire?

BBC reports lightning has injured 51 (8 serious, 2 needed resuscitation) at the Rock am Ring music festival, Germany earlier today. Careful what you wish for if storms of similar magnitude ever make it to the UK!

We have come close before, there's a close strick in this storm at some point.

Just incase it happened before this vid started, I'll post a quicker one. Hit hit one of the stages.

Proper blue skies here now, working its way inland nicely.

Why bother with storm-chasing when all you need do is go to Glastonbury! The link to another version of Rock Island Line was pretty good, too!

Same, think the temp rise for the most part is mugginess, although it is slightly higher than it has been.

Just realised it hasn't rained in Edinburgh for almost two weeks now and it doesn't look as though it's going to rain anytime soon. How boring

Enjoy it, I don't think dry weather happens often over there. I'm probably wrong mind. It's the same as tourists coming to London expecting rain. It can happen, but London is quite dry compared to most of the UK.

Nice and hot in the sun now, needed the shade for a bit, I would say currently dew points 10 or 11C at a guess, not feeling overly muggy but a little bit in there I can feel. Feels a bit like when I was in Mexico city. It was daily about 11C dewpoints there.

No sign of the clag lifting here. It is much warmer than of late though.

I'd prefer a couple of hot days to really get things heated up before the breakdown, but I'll take anything.

No your completely right we rarely ever get a break from the rain for this long up here in Scotland should probably make the most of it while it lasts

I think the majority of us will have to wait until Tuesday for any storms. The low cloud is taking far too long to shift today for any surface heating to kick in.

The days are long so there is plenty of time for the sun to get to work. Best to leave it until late evening before calling it I think. The forecast models shows the most build up of CAPE from 15Z onwards.

Temp 16.8 DP 15, think it might be higher by the feel of things if the cloud cleared and temp went up.
