Quick question, why is the lightningmaps.org not showing any strikes from the area if I can definitely see/hear them? It showed the first one but just removed that aswell?

Only shows CGs!

WHAT, a huge rumble out of nowhere here!

Just seen the two fresh strikes on blitzortung - so close to me yet so far haha. Great pictures too by the way. The sky looks really black towards you. Sun shining in Aztec West at the moment.

The lightning detectors do show IC strikes, but they are harder to pick up, especially if they are higher up.

Are those near you?

Not strictly true about only showing CG lightning, intra-cloud is picked up as well.

I don't know if I'm going insane but a cell to my South visible as I speak seem to have slight rotation in its lower clouds? :cc_confused:

Looks like storms are firing a little inland from the mighty Bristol channel - AKA the storm killer channel.

That thing is such a pain lol. If it could just be filled in as far out towards the sea as beaches start to become sandy not sh*tty ... Interestingly, it looks like the cells that were moving southeastwards from Bristol are almost turning back again, or backbuilding. The dark sky over Ben S's way seems to be nearing on me.

Nice inflow into the cell here! Also is that a funnel cloud just above it, looked to be rotating but the funnel was horizontal?image.jpegimage.jpeg

Very heavy shower with a few rumbles! Doing well so far!

I expect things to continue too with a higher bout of instability forecast over east Anglia into the evening. Up to 1000-1200j/kg cape with -4 LI for 18:00 :)

Lincolnshire has got the best storm yet again though. Shock!

Lightning activity seems to have stopped here even though it's continually pouring down, nice cell to my north that may clip me.

Torrential downpours to my NW now probably very close to going bang, the windows are open!

NMM shows showers rumbling around well into the evening here. :)

And here I am sitting in an easterly airflow, so dull I've had to put the lights on indoors and a boring east coast haar blowing in. Had one glimpse of sunshine - if you blinked you'd have missed it. Odd thing is, the air is reasonably warm, but the humidity is high and I can see my breath. Absolutely nothing promising here
