Looking forward to a clear blue sky cold day tomorrow after an air frost - though temps are not set to be as low as first thought, thanks to stubborn cloud and the wind taking longer to ease.. Alas, should be a good day for getting out and about - we need dry sunny days at this time of year - the sun really does work wonders on our health and its a bonus it is a Sunday when more people than normal can enjoy it.

Next week looks one of those frustrating ones as we sit on the boundary between mild and cold, stuck in no-mans land, hoping we don't see stalling banks of drizzly cloud from the west - otherwise we could see alot of rather dank raw dreary weather - not good for what is generally the most dismal part of the year for many.

Fifth air frost of the season now just begun. Should be the start of a run of several consecutive air frosts.

Not quite an air frost but one of the thickest hoar frosts for some years. Temperatures dropped to exactly 0.0C slight breeze making it feels few degrees colder.

Here in chorlton the same ,was slippy coming back from pub  last night but that might of been the IPA .

Same here, slippy walking home from the bus yesterday evening with frost on top of what was left of a heavy hail/sleet shower earlier.

looks like a nice, usable winters day coming up though.

Certainly of those days where the heat of the sun is needed to melt the frost off the ground and cars and as much of the front of our house faces north, an ice day is looking likely.

It reached about 4c today here , but in shaded areas (north facing front garden) it's still frozen

Just took the dogs out and the wind has picked up and there is a horrendous wind chill. The frost is reforming and still remains when it’s been in the shade

It is horrendous but as I'm a citizen of Wirral which is the Florida of Northwest England I can be forgiven.

we are a bit prone to exaggeration up here but it’s a bloody cold bleak place at the best of times.

Chorley will be in the warm sector.

North UK will be Scotland and we’ll all be in the warm section.

and if it goes completely belly up and the snow all heads for southern Greece then no need for them to apologise for getting it so wrong; it is the UK after all and these things happen.

role on spring and northern blocking.

Frost should return tonight despite the keen wind.  Decent day tomorrow much like today, then cloud-fest with a bit of rain midweek.  Hope it doesn't sit over us on Wednesday and fizzles out to the east.
