I hope it edges a bit further north for my back yard in Chesterfield.

Going to refrain from talking about next week for now.

For now though, my goodness, I'm so glad this depressing weather is going to give us a break for a couple of days. Last week, there was suggestions we may get a few dry days this week, but sadly, this is been downgraded to just 2.

A quick blast of frosty, dry weather will be most welcome until we get wet and windy again at the weekend.

And that's as far as I want to discuss right now...the actual forecasts for the general public for next week are remaining fairly conservative and therefore so shall I for now.

I hope everyone on here has the best Christmas they possibly can. And enjoy the break we're going to get from this murky, dark, wet gloom!

I got absolutely soaked again today just finished on the parcels the amounts have dropped now quite abit..

The rain was heavy and lasted hours man o man am I sick of it.

Anyway looking forward to weekend possibility of cold and snow .

Will cheer me up abit been a long time since seen some decent snowfall and lamppost watching.

I will keep reading the back and forth in the mod thread and try to not get too excited until it is actually falling from the sky.

7c and still raining.

And now a warning for wind 26/27th Lovely :santa-emoji:

But,,,but...I haven't even picked my sprouts yet.

Fairly wet day here with 8.7mms. Not as heavy as I thought, although there is still a bit more time left.

Temperatures have started to fall now.

Reached 6.6C max, but has fallen away to 5.cC now with light rain.

Colder and clear at the moment, with the temp falling slowly.

Now at 1.4C with a brisk NE wind.

Out  for my morning walk around the golf course.

Hopefully will see some clouds appear from the NE later.

Just had a look at the rainfall radar and it seems there is a chance of the showers over north east England at the moment making their way this far south, and inland, by this afternoon. Let's hope they don't fizzle out on the way down.

Yesterday's rain takes the total for the month here to 149.6mm, equaling the total in December 2015. The last wetter December was in 2012 which recorded 210.7 mm so I doubt if that will be exceeded.

are these showers making it further inland then modelled/predicted?  If so, good news for those in range who were not expecting it!! ❄️

Doubt these would get as far as me and at my elevation.  Patience, patience..:santa-emoji:

A few light snow flurries here in the last hour but the showers are dying out as they move south.

Looks a tad too far south on Monday to hit Burton always the case, but days away yet alot can change will be watching the radar while at work.

If we get the cold established for a week or so we all may see a few flakes ?️❄️

Exciting times.
