Heavy snow here for past hour or so covering everything including roads with around an inch of thick, fluffy, sticky snow. 

Not expecting anything so a real bonus today!

Where are the warnings for this snow event? I know its cropped up out of nowhere in last 24 hours, but you would think there would be warnings out for this event?

Its an absolute white out here. If it had been London or further south I cant help but think it would have been made more of a thing.

Brilliant surprise all the same, not expecting this at all. Really thick flakes now!!

Next batch on the way north west of the city disappearing from view as the annoying dry patch goes through. Not sure it warrants a warning however the lunchtime forecast only mentioned it in passing and at the time it was dying away on the radar. However it does show again that our updating is stills tuck in the 80's

Nearly stopped here now and can see on the radar that's it as it finally clears South. Was a fun hour though.

It's fairly thin on the ground so I think ice will be pretty bad tonight. Take care if out!

Largely unexpected 4 hours of snowfall just coming to an end, and giving 2-3 cms of cover. I wonder if we'll see a bigger fall the rest of this winter.......

S2 Sheffield it has been chucking it down for 1hr:30 mins now absolutely covered again everywhere.. radar suggests perhaps another half an hours worth? Not complaining at all!
