Couple cm's has settled here, still coming down lightly, might just get clipped by that next heavier band heading SE

Can't grumble for late November!

We managed a dusting here last night. Hoping we might get more showers this evening feeding in off the sea as we’ve missed out on the main event further west (as we usually do here). Currently 0.5c and falling. ❄️

Should we expect colder than forecast temperatures overnight with the added unexpected snow cover, -5, -6 tonight if clear maybe?

Well I’ve had loads! Heavy too so can’t complain at all although I’ll find a way to because it’s beginning to stop now and radar suggests this too..Good luck to everyone else!!!

Now back to the model watching, it’s all so exciting!

Now stopped and the days ended up with more snow lying than it started with. Not often you say that in November

Another 3cm that was a nice snowfall. Easy 8cm total from Saturday and Sunday. Been since 2010 since we had snowfall like that in November!

Done very well in our part of Barnsley, with another 3 inches in about 3 hours today.  Needed to get out to care for an elderly relative so had to bring the AWD into action.  Once again lots of people struggling to get about on local streets but my XC40 did the job without a single wheelslip!

Yet another surprise heavy snowfall in Sheffield. Quite a deep cover now! Perhaps  Sheffield in the sweet spot?

Snowed for over 2 hours - moderate to heavy. About 12cm on the car now - see the pics below

Its just started to snow, showers finally pushing in off the sea

Hopefully these move inland a bit overnight and give something to Eastern areas. I dont think I can put up with yet another winter where western areas of the region get hammered every time while we get nothing. It doesn't seem to matter whether its a northerly, easterly or battleground setup, the result seems to be the same!

A PILE-up of cars has occurred near Keighley Road entrance/exit to St Ives and the entrance to Harden Moor car park.

Looks an easy enough road to navigate not steep guess they were using the brakes to slow down rather than the gears. Reminds me of driving on black ice in Derbyshire where the gritters don't tend come out in the weekend so it can be entertaining. So going down Sheffield road from owler bar roundabout. Nice morning Sheffield side gritted which stopped at the boundary. Cars flashing me  to warn of ice but I already seen the evil twinkle of black ice from the sun light. So nice and steady on the gas using it lightly for the up hill bits and the gears to keep the speed steady on the downward slopes. Passing cars who'd gone off into walls even one of the roof nobody about strangely 99% BMW's. The owners had left them. Any ways the cars fine the only problem I had was the lady in front who thought braking fairly hard for each bend was a good idea. Eventually when we came to a gentle bend where you could see that nobody was coming I gently overtook while she braked. No brakes no gas no change in speed for me. Only needed to gently apply the brakes in plenty of time for the roundabout at the end of the road. On the way back the roads were fine and the recovery vehicles were doing a roaring trade.

I like this video trying to work how the gritter managed to take himself of the road.

Light snow here at the moment, currently -1c.

Shame really as they are heavy showers as the hit the coast but the Moors eats them up and give us crappy leftovers!

Looks like we started off this season with the usual wet rain!!! You have to laugh really. I’m moving to the Yorkshire dales when I retire
