Next week looking stormy from Wednesday with damaging winds. Could all downgrade neither the time but worth keeping an eye on.

Hopefully some more weather action to come this week yes, better than the boring January we had. Even the chance of some snow Friday ❄️

Next week looks lively from my basic understanding, whilst the end of next week has potential that is worth keeping an eye on

Potential is putting it mildly. Full blown multi feet blizzard is a possibility, which has come out of nowhere, all be it if it happens will be a 1 or 2 day affair.

For some perhaps, don't want to put a hex on things at this early stage and get too giddy yet, fingers and toes crossed, but i expect the 'mad' thread will now spark into life?

Amber Warning now issued for Wednesday / Thursday covers from Harrogate northwards. I expect them to increase the size of the area southwards if it stays as is nearer the time.

Also a warning now issued for Friday, but its more a 'we aren't at all certain warning' just potential for extreme winds across England/Wales and Blizzards for Northern England / Scotland.

Looking at the updates tonight, we will be in for a lively back end of the week, some serious wind on the horizon, the positioning of the storms will be the thing to keep an eye on,

Could be very Windy up here starting tomorrow. All the talk is of course Storm Eunice. As the south is more densely populated.

I remember the storm of '87. It was horrible. Living in Epping forest, the sounds of all the Trees falling was pretty scary tbh. Then in '90 we had a daytime storm that actually lifted the front of my Car up whilst waiting at a roundabout.

I now hate high winds. The damage they can do is awful. Stay safe everyone.

possibly some exciting weather for our region this week?

Snow, albeit for 24-36 hours, is certainly not out of the question.

Needs keeping a very close eye on atm

Tonight's run borderline if it hits or not on Friday. We may just end up watching the rainfall totals build and wondering whether the showers turn wintry by late afternoon.

87 my sister who lives in High Wycombe was having the windows replaced and had no windows installed. They both slept through it no damage my brother in law set off to work and had to come back as trees were down everywhere.

90 I was working in High Wycombe and part of the building wall blew down unfortunately missing the bosses ferrari. The stores door was blowing in and the end of building was trying to detach itself. The safety manager foolishly let people walk up down the stairs while the masonry kept on moving if it went they would have been trapped in the canteen and in danger. I also watched roof with concrete beams lift up then down however that was the peak of the storm and winds soon eased down.  It was still windy I remember driving home with trees leaning over the road saying to myself please don't.

Just received an E-mail from Northern power grid, advising of potential power issues in the next few days due to the incoming storms, not had that before,

Yeah just read that email myself! Its a first for me too.

Im actually terrified of strong winds with the damage it can cause so not looking forward to these storms at all and that email hasn't helped

It's already got extremely windy out there, wasn't expecting this till later today.

Short and sweet. Forgotten what is was like to be in a strong wind. Made it interesting measuring the weather and making sure the thermometers didn't blow out of my hands when I shook them down.

However didn't last long set off out to work and the winds dropped line a stone within minutes. See the graph on

Live Weather from the Davis weather station located in sheffield south yorkshire england. Live web cams for weather

Max gust 57 mph and highest ten minute average 30 mph.  Now dropped to average 15mph and gusting into the 30's

Had them aplogising for power cuts and power would be restored asap before. However the power never went off. None today.

I saw the email too.

Glad I replaced all 6 batteries in my slightly overkill whole room UPS.

Think Yorkshire could be in firing line for snow. A blend of all models would put that southern part of the snow band at the humber.

So far its windy here, but not exceptionally so.The stongest wind seem to be just to the North of us at the moment. Looking at the forecasts, maps and models I think Friday afternoon will be the worst time here. Currently sunshine and very mild (11C). Fed up with 'double figure' mildness that seems to be a major part of winters over the last 10 years. Friday looks like it could deliver some winter weather.

Very very gusty here. Pretty strong already. Tonight doesn't sound fun for sleeping and Friday looks worrying

Just hope it's a blizzard and not raining to make it even more interesting!
