Yeah, bit frustrating though we can't complain ( better than most of the country!). Perhaps a temporary top up in the morning before a thaw. I'm now looking to festive period for our next chances..

Think we might see some snow tonight into tomorrow, with further accumulations. But obviously not the same when there will be an immediate thaw after.

Yeah think there are definitely bigger cold spells to come, fingers crossed.

Surely your getting a pasting right now ?

Yes, a good 5cm or so accumulated overnight, I thought there was a chance of getting snow last night but I was only expecting a dusting at most, this was unexpected!

I'm not expecting a big thaw until about Thursday, the system coming in tonight should stay to the South of us and once it clears it should stay cold with a ridge of high pressure with night frosts. Even when system coming in on Thursday we might see some snow on its leading edge before it turns a bit milder.

2.5cm fresh snow here, could have been more but missed much of the heavy precipitation. 4cm on the grass where it added to existing cover.

No thaw yet as still sub zero at -0.1c so at least it still looks pretty .

Optimistically looking at all that precipitation to the southwest and hoping it can make it here this afternoon and as snow ; ) .

Nothing forecast until evening though and only supposed to be light. Heavier stuff expected tomorrow morning.

Ended up with around three to four cm's worth, after last winter when it took until March for lying snow it's a good start 👌🏼

Had a about 1cm in the early hrs, enough to give everything a covering, so not to bad for early December.

Just looking ahead to tonight.

GFS says snow from about 10pm before turning to rain after about 1am.

BBC says sleet from about 4pm through 5am before turning to rain for another 24 hours. Not sure it's lasting that long.

Met Office says snow for 2 hours between 6-8 and then a gap until rain from 1am.

Radar does suggest it's moving fairly quickly.

About 3cm here, nothing to shout about but still nice to look at. We didn’t see any settling snow until March last winter so it’s a good start.

The precipitation to the south seems very advanced. It’s turning to snow from around Nottingham northwards according to Wunderground

Precipitation has hit the Sheffield area so will be interesting to see what the reports are. I reckon for most it will turn to rain quite quickly. Still the snow stuck around for the day!

Similar amounts here in Kippax perhaps a  bit less. A bit disappointed that the heavier stuff stayed just south of here rather than what was modeled (was supposed to be a bit further north the heavier stuff.)

The dreaded Garforth Gap in the front. Was such pathetic effort here I didn't even do it the honour of taking a picture 😂

Just gone for a walk on the top of the hill and that's above 200m no hint of any sleet just rain sadly

Precipitation has arrived in Barnsley and it’s sleet at best occasionally but mostly rain, despite the fact the Met Office website shows snow for us from 15.00 until 22.00!   Temp is currently 0.7c and Dewpoint 0.3c.
