The dreaded Garforth Gap in the front. Was such pathetic effort here I didn't even do it the honour of taking a picture 😂

😂.

Glad I didn't stay up to track it and it would have thawed a bit anyway so no big loss now.

Let's see what tonight brings, probably just cold rain.. lower atmosphere very saturated now and dew point wrong side of freezing so little chance of a nice surprise later

Indeed it's rare to go from fog to snow at this elevation unfortunately 😭

Think it will be a 300m+ Event, even there freezing rain a possibility

-1c here mostly because of full snow cover and persistent fog. It would be nice if we had a couple of hours of big flakes but I see the DPs are rising unfortunately.

Queensbury is the place to be on days like this.

Looks heavier than I expected. Not sure what will happen when it hits at this elevation.

You've got a better chance than us lowlanders that's for sure. I'm not sure how high up the warmer layer of air is though to be honest

Showing 0c with dew point -1c leeds bradford airport, might give you a slither of a chance. Top of Otley chevin might do well.

Suprised it's settling that low down, brings a few people into the game. Probably not enough for the <100m club 😪

Yeah I’m surprised too. Wasn’t expecting this. Nice bonus after getting nothing last night.

Been an extremely grey day here - exceptionally poor visibility. Probably got about a centimetre overnight, and a bit of the snow has melted, though relatively slowly. I think probably as others have said, areas with a bit of elevation will do well, but I think it'll be the wrong side of marginal for me at about 80m ASL. Probably sleet turning increasingly to rain as the night progresses.

We’re at 240m approx. The snow line here is usually 200m+

As a rule of thumb for it to settle at this elevation it has to be snowing in Leeds center.

So that's a good sign.

I've never in 14 years of being on this forum seen falling and lying at 200m and rain in town. It has to be snowing in the city center, even if it's not settling and wet snow in the city.

Front has arrived and immediately snow in BD19.

Top of the front is flat so it looks like we are near the northern edge.

Only time I recall was Feb 2nd 09. Sleet in Leeds City Center, snow in BD11 and Bradford City Center. About 7 inches at the airport.

From looking at models I think a few places above 200m may see a little snowfall over next few hours, but the snow line will rise to 400m to the south of our region and 300m further north.. 2m temps and dew points rising overnight.

Rain and sleet now turned to wet snow, which is quite a surprise.  Started to settle again on paths, drives and side roads where last nights snow had thawed.  Temps now down to 0.4c and Dewpoint 0.1c.
