Quite a few aren’t showing destinations on tags on Flightradar24 since the summer... but strange...

That plane that you might have heard was an Antonov An12.

Not many of them around.

It's been back and forth from Ukraine to Liverpool recently. I heard it yesterday, went right over our house, a very characteristic sound. I wonder what it's carrying?

Rain setting in getting heavier and heavier, guess this is just the start.

I so wish this low was a bit a further south, it would really ramp up the wintry potential but unlikely we will see any significant movements now.

Heavy rain now for next 36 hours... patio out back already has door mat in puddle... gutters flowing well... just hope we can get some snow afterwards and flooding locally and nationally isn’t too bad

A quick look at the radar and the main area of rain seems to be further south at the moment.

maybe some last minute changes but the BBC forecast is still bullish about it being in the original position.

Ignore BBC/Met until 24 hours out and even then just use them As another source; better off relying on more reliable technical sources such as you can find on here.

BTW I haven’t watched a TV forecast for 10 years because I can’t stand them they make me physically sick.

Putting aside the snow possibilities keep a watch for Meto warnings later would not be surprised to see a red warning for somewhere in the region.

Met app with isn’t a bad tool for general guidance. As it stands only a thin area of back edge snow.

GFS ensembles has the 37cm spike again

The one thing I have noticed over the past 2 or 3 days is that the wintry prospects for Thursday have been slowly watered down in the metoffice text forecast for the region. It now just says showers for Thursday with no mention of sleet or snow.

This is also represented in the App forecast with temps a degree or two higher than originally forecast,
