Welcome to the group snowdrift.

Thanks,  just hoping that Rochey's "Snow shield" suffers epic failure ( been very effective for east cost since 2018!)  and this time next week we are in the midst or just on the cusp of Seasonal snow spell . 😉

Aye think we are all managing our expectations, but surely we are all due a decent dumping of the white stuff!

The famous year where it showed for 3 days in March we had six feet high snowdrifts a ten minute drive up the hill, and 3 days of sleet here. My poor kids watched out the window in despair

Have been watching the models for a week now ever since I seen the meandering high forecast and the non-ssw event of last week.

I'm very inclined to say if meto are seeing ecm and ukmo as the most likely scenario, it's game on.

That event pained me as we got f all in the west, caused me much jealousy 🤣

Good to see it getting busier in here now that snow is on the way.

Let's hope for a better NNW to N Northerly with frequent snow showers to kick things off early next week.

That northerly is being shortened run by run the gfs was on to something collapsing that Greenland high early now watch the lows slide and mess us.

Aye, not liking the way things are going for us over here.

The Northerly looks dry at the moment and when the Atlantic comes in, we're too far North.

Still plenty time for change though.

Just watched the BBC NI weather and he showed this for the next 7 days.

One assumes this is some kind of joke.

I think it's just a generic all NI thing. He didn't specify a place

If a 1046 high in that position doesn’t do it for us , i’ll be amazed. It’s a perfect “funnel” of arctic air heading straight for us.

Am I right in thinking things have improved upon in the models from this mornings negativity?

Definitely seems to be a swing back round to snow mid week at the mo. Still a way out though

Still think you guys up in the northern half will see some on Monday and Tuesday. And if you believe the output from this morning, it's only the appetiser!

12z GFS has no decent snow until a week Friday and even then it turns quickly to rain.

Thankfully the UKMO and GEM look much better synoptically.

Isn’t it the little features that turn up at short notice in a Northern flow that we are looking for though? Getting the country cold is just the first step. See Sunday -> going forward. All the professionals are reticent about predicting snow until it’s pretty obvious it’s going to happen. Just my opinion.

Hoping for this kind of outcome at some stage over next few weeks….
