Snow still here and well below freezing at -2c.

2 days of snow on the ground is not too bad for Autumn especially as it looked likely to be a snow free autumn

Looks to be heading straight to Stoke!

I’m off hiking in North Wales this morning/early afternoon. Hope I don’t get stuck on the way back!

Looks much more extensive than forecast ⛄

Looks to be arriving slightly earlier than expected, too! Hopefully it doesn’t die a death before it arrives across the Midlands.

Unlikely it’ll die out unless every model is wrong. It’s moving very slowly. Should reach the far north of the region around early/mid afternoon.

Looking better for central/some eastern parts of the region later today, the west is a bit more marginal.

Arpege still has snow especially for more eastern areas of the region with a narrow part showing as rain for more Western parts.

Euro4 show pretty much the same.

image.thumb.png.e53123a4c54b17f3895f4d3432343d24.png

By 9pm tonight, Arome gives a line of accumulation right through the central midlands and slightly towards the east of the region too.

image.thumb.png.03890c604cffb8648ed65829cdcfc113.png

Just as the above charts show, more western areas looking like sleet or rain away from higher ground due to rising DPs but more Central Eastern areas might do well.

Lets hope many of us can get a few CMs top up.

Yeah. It might be rain/sleet for Shropshire. Looks like Staffordshire should just about be OK for snow!

It might go a bit further east, looking at radar it is hard to tell though..  Will be watching!  Met weather app says snow 4pm IMBY but that is not exactly reliable...

Morning all!  -3 here at dawn and a shedload of snow heading down from Scotland, stringing out as it passes the borders.

Expect a dumping just before 12, maybe lasting till 2-30?

The fire’s lit and there’s just time for those outside chores!

Missed all the excitement yesterday and today the same, forgot how everything always tracks east of here.

A fair amount of anaprop ahead of the main band, it seems. Low also appears to be a little further east than most models (perhaps 30-40 miles or so?), bringing the rain transition further east over north west england. The being said, moving past the radar gap seems to show ppn extends further west, now visible north of the North Wales coast - all to play for

Seems to be developing in the Irish sea, that should reach more Western parts, but whether it will be rain/sleet or snow there remains to be seen.

At this rate I'm worried about being too far west after worrying about being too far east yesterday.

Some have reported nothing falling  even though the radar showed something recently though so the radar maybe be a little wrong @sheikhy
