Id say around here we have around 5cm on most surfaces but up to 10cm on grassy areas, slushy on the roads now and drip drip everywhere, but what a start to winter even though its not until a few days yet.

Snow has stopped here in the last hour or so, Very blustery still with a bitting wind chill.

Is that it for now in Worcestershire ?   Supposed to be going out today and tonight, but dont want to get caught out.   I guess freezing roads tonite may be a problem ? Though roads have been gritted.

I think I said yesterday, precip charts probably pointless but one to watch later for another flurry maybe?  ❄️

Why did I move from Wolverhampton to Telford?! Nothing here but wind and snapped trees!

you can see the three current area on the dp’s

anything falling from the sky is

A wet (away from notable elevation)

b. Uncertain - elevation important

c  white

the lines obvs have a margin of error west/east and precip intensity can drag that freezing level down locally)

I’m in zone C- most definitely it was wet.

I think you’ll find that there is a specific snow shield around your house !!

Definitely lower dps today, roads have dried and wind feels much cooler. So why did it snow in Staffs/Black Country but not Shropshire, even at over 200m? Probably because we had very little precipitation here, despite the wind direction favouring a Cheshire Gap setup, so it couldn't do the evap cooling but anything that falls tonight has to be wintry.

Zone B but I know that Birmingham and surrounding areas have decent elevation. It's fascinating to see just how hard it is for forecasters to predict snow when the parameters for snow are always on a knife edge.

Alton Staffordshire - We were lucky to get 10+ cm of snow over night into this morning.

The winds however were awful and alot of damage to our garden (non structural). We have also been without power for 12 hours so far. Living in a small village outside Alton in the Moorlands we have no heating, hot water or cooking options other than our trusty camping stove!

Not a nice position to be in with a 2 and 4 year old, although they see it as an adventure at least!

As Matt as posted, a possibility of a wintry mix tomorrow afternoon as a few models are picking up on it now.....one to keep an eye on

I’m expecting minus 2 tonight here

clear skies now but it’s still blowing a bit

Atm I’ve got at 5:21pm...1.7c ...Dp -3.5c ...humidity 67%

Looks like mostly snow but there will be slightly less cold air on the west of that feature that may mean rain/sleet around the western edge.

Still a good bit of snow laying here especially on grass, but partly still on roofs, parts of pavements, and edges of side roads. With temps dropping tonight  i think its safe to say that its laying longer than a day at least. Hope to get more tomorrow and the parts which stayed as rain get some too.

Still snow around, more than I thought, now icy as skies cleared, so certainly still there tomorrow

Very icy out there after today's slush! I'm surprised there is no ice warning

Yeah quite surprised at the potential tomorrow. Looks like a lively trough pushing south. One of those that could go anywhere.
