That's what you call a snowy night sky, seeing skies like that bring me back to 2010 everytime.

Still snowing lightly the sky, outside looks so magical! Another approx 3cm on top of yesterday’s snowfall.

Grassy surfaces probably have 5cm+

And the cold rain continues. For sure it feels cold enough to snow, some of the puddles still had ice on them this afternoon. But Shropshire has pulled off another inexplicable weather fail.

We’ve all been there the only positive I can give you is ( winter hasn’t started yet ) so plenty of time for your winter to start

Slightly less cold upper level air into the far west of the region, unfortunately.

Aye. South of Stoke one of the prime spots yet again. A few miles to my north there was nothing yesterday. That surprised me.

It was snowing in Liverpool, that's further west than here? Wrexham apparently had the rain though. Friday night we got nothing when the west had the colder air, albeit it wasnt as cold to start with and we missed the heavy stuff unlike today. It's usually when it's not really forecast that we get the best snow!

It's all about dewpoints, I've seen it snow when surface temperature is about 5 degrees and dewpoints are well below freezing and conversely when dewpoints and surface temperatures are around 0c/32f I've seen it rain! Your area today has seen dewpoints at zero or just above...

This for Thursday! very similar to todays front, then very iffy Friday with front from west into cold air, likely just leading edge snow for low levels, but high levels all snow event
