Still got lying snow outside and with a partly clear sky it proimises to be a cold night here.  This should help to finally get rid of the remaining leaves on the trees and, (I hope) is a sign of winter to come.

That old saying about get the cold in first and then the snow will follow seems apt today. Was that area of precipitation even modelled until late yesterday!?

Autumn weekends like this one are as rare as hens teeth, 2 days now of good snowfall, temps not to low to be a real issue and with the drop in wind speed today the gentle silence only a snowfall can bring is magical. Like fine wine, weekends like this should be savoured and its not even Winter yet!

I don't recall seeing dewpoints as low as -40 in Scandinavia in recent years, particularly not in November. Is something afoot?

It's snowing here now; this spell gets better and better!  It's such a shame the milder weather's set to return soon.

The absolute useless BBC failed to forecast 5 hours of snow for us . Football games off, panic buying in stores and councils unprepared. Can they get any worse?

Not much in the way of snow here (just a dusting this morning), but the max temp of 2.1C today is the lowest here in November since 2010.

We've gone from a month that was running 2C above average here a week ago to just 0.4C above average now. It shows how quickly things can change.

Great couple of days snowfall for everyone, let's all hope we have more of this to come in the near future!

Best November snowfall I’ve seen since 2010. It snowed all afternoon and was a very festive ambiance whilst putting up the Christmas decorations. I hope some snow returns in December.

Like in summer we get the heat without the thunderstorms, same happens in winter, we get the cold but without the snow! I almost prefer wind/rain storms from the west.

I know what you mean!

I was hoping for a bit more excitement down here, but alas, I was wrong. No wintriness (to be expected) but trace rainfall amounts as well. Just a chilly few days, and not the coldest of the month, either.

Still, I wouldn't swap where I live for the sake of weather conditions.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this weekend.

Storm Arwen was an interesting experience as it is the only storm we have had this autumn. Not only that, but it was somewhat unusual as the strong winds were coming from the north east as opposed to the west, which is often the case. As interesting as it was, I am sympathetic for those who have fallen victim to it though.

We had a little dusting of snow too which brightened up the streets a bit. Nights were also crisp and clear resulting in frost here and there.

A very good 48 hours in terms of interesting weather. Particularly after weeks of mainly nothingness.

Snowfall here was brilliant. 2 inches of snow is not bad when you weren't expecting it. We don't see November snowfalls very often and after such a mild autumn, it was a nice change

It isn't to be this far south. I'd never live anywhere else. I love snow, but the coast is too much of a luxury place to live. I'd rather the warmth in summer than the cold in winter. Although I still can't help but feel a little jealous.

Whenever there's "uncertainty" in the output during the winter season things usually only go one way which results in me avoiding these forums like a plague for weeks on end, hopefully this isn't one of those occasions.

What would WPD be doing travelling through the Peak District?

I thought they covered further South?

That photo looks a little suspect, that's all. Those drifts look to be 8 or 9' high? Or is it banks under the snow that are about 6'?

Would like a good ol' windstorm from the South West to spice things up a bit. As I live in a no weather zone.

Luckily 10c by Tuesday and the horrendous freeze is over.

?‍♂️- it’s all back to below average-@temps by Wednesday- and the snow chances are a foot again also. A very brief milder 1/2 day blip!
