First flakes I’ve seen this winter

Same here. A bit of a sleety mix right now, but more snowy in a heavier burst a couple of minutes ago. Happy to have seen some flakes falling though.

Proper miserable drive in to work this morning. That horrible fine rain that makes you feel cold to the bone.

Thankfully the low being modelled for early next week on the current GFS is going through its weakening stage when it makes landfall. Meaning the strongest of winds stay out at sea although still pretty rough for a time.

Not sure what to make of it, I think the GFS is doing its usual and blowing it up to much. ECM sends it so far south its nothing to worry about really...

GFS is usually fairly good at track this far out but not the depth of the low and likes to back down on intensity nearer the time

Not too bad a day here in Locksbottom with the rain out of the way before 7am and although no sun it felt so much milder than yesterday and we hit 9 degrees.Looking at mod thread things seemed to have turned more in favour of cold weather next week although sadly for the SE not quite cold enough for snow.Think the Midlands north west and Scotland may well see more snow, notably over 150m I would suggest and there could be some wintry landscapes here.We will need to wait a little longer I think.Still encouraging signs❄️

For me, anything before Christmas is a result and i've already seen it this year.

The whole storm idea been dropped.

It's all getting interesting again for coldies.

Transient snow Sunday.

I do hate snow to rain events .

So disappointing

One thing worse.. add wind.. and down my neck of the woods latest gfs run ,we have done what we always seem to do and missed the worst winds ..but it's early doors ..glad for that, you think ..downside is, we seem to miss everything,   the good ,the bad ,and the damned right  ugly ...but it's  a price we pay here

Yea I was going say that ..least no worst winds but most cold rain which is like you say gruesome  ...but we could still have some fairly strong winds if that little blob of energy intensifies ..it wont pick that out yet
