Fingers crossed for a storm,  plenty out west at the moment!  Also hoping @Puffy MacCloud is doing OK and hopefully just has a broken phone or something...!

Another face meltingly warm day. Clear blue skies though notably more haze.

Just breached 28c, I hope today ends with a beefy storm.

Pretty clear here at the moment but looking at the webcams to the east, it won't last.

Been some interesting weather recently, I read, although pretty average around here. Max temp of around 20C which makes softy southerners jealous.

Just now, I hear thunder - looked out and wafts of haar drifting around still, so no chance of seeing flashes. Never heard thunder under haar before.

Yes fingers crossed. Yesterday’s max at Leuchars was 18.2c some 11c lower than Thursday. Skies starting to brighten here after a grey start, 15c.

Had our bbq at St Andrews yesterday. Was sunny at around 21.5C in Dundee when we left but St Andrews was a couple of degrees cooler with intermittent cloud and just a hint of patchy haar around. Still had a great day with the relatives and a few drinks too many. Meanwhile today hazy sun with max so far of 20.6C

Yes definitely more hazy but also still very warm and feeling like there’s more moisture in the air. It almost smells like a tropical place during the rainy season.

Surprised nobody in the general Inverness area has posted anything about the storms. They look wild on the radar! And the lightning strikes back that up

Some cloud bubbling up here but not enough for any respite.

30.4c currently, have not previously recorded a spell of such consistently high temperatures like this before.

Tremendous storm circling us now with thunder lightning in all directions but especially to the west

Got very dark in the last 15 minutes

All grain shed doors  shut  hope it's not too torrential.

In the annals of forecasting today has to go down as very poor indeed.  If I understood correctly the storms were supposed to sweep eastwards through most areas, whereas in fact they've trundled northwards and hardly made any eastward progress.  Sprinkler time again.

Another hot day with pretty much unbroken sunshine, getting hazier now but still bright. Feels more humid than of late but obviously no sign of the forecast storms.

The drilling guys got on well and after first hitting water at 6ft, eventually had to give up and call it a day at just over 30ft with water spewing out everywhere. The original plan was to go to 100ft and see how things went.

Good news all round - so much water so near the surface that we won't even need to run power out there for a pump. Gravity combined with the existing pump in the house will do the job.

Went very dark, a lot of thunder and lightning to the west mainly over Ben Assynt, spells of heavy rain here but now dryer and a tad brighter. Cooler now at 15c down from 22c and a lot less humid.

Baking hot here in Falkirk, very close and oppressive. Like a bit of thunder and lighting so keeping my fingers crossed some drifts this way.

@Puffy MacCloudhope you're doing OK.

Thunder all around, but just that gentle type that's bumbling in the distance rather than violent cracks overhead...

Ten minutes of big spots and that's been the ppn. Seems all afternoon that proper storms have started more or less overhead and headed north gaining in intensity. Am sure we'll get a bullseye eventually...

Same here. @shuggee Lots of thunder rumbling but at a distance. Difficult to judge but appears to be South or West of me. Just a few spots of rain so far.

edit. Looking again the darkest clouds passed from the South to my East heading NE out to sea or up the coast to Angus and Aberdeenshire.
