A much better start, mist/low cloud only patchy and shallow so has burned away swiftly, there appears to be less haze/dust too which should help.

Yep sky is lovely and blue today.

Yes, very different to yesterday, with a deep blue sky from the word go.

Just touching 28C here now.

Hit 30.1C here now...wondering how high it's going to peak today with a few hours of heating to go.

Will be very disappointed if we don't go bang. Got a wonderful long view over the dartfotd bridge in the distance. Hoping for some lightning

30c reached here this afternoon. First day in a long while where it does genuinely feel hot.

Reached 31 here in Locksbottom and still 24 @8.45pm.Really felt humid working outside today and tomorrow looks pretty similar.Weekend looks hot and sunny in this neck of the woods with potential for 32 or 33 on Saturday. It’s only by Tuesday next week when temperatures go back to more seasonal levels.Enjoy the heat those that like it but everyone keep hydrated 👍

No mist this morning, there is however quite a bit of high cloud, which is probably the primary reason why temperatures are set to be a little down on yesterday. We should still see 30c towards the London area still.

Hit 28c yesterday, 3c higher than what the BBC was showing. Hotter yesterday than Wednesday where most forecasts had it the other way round. Unsure why the BBC always struggles with temps.

I think they give a general temp figure on the basis that so many factors can play into different areas. London as a whole might be, say, 30c in a forecast, but zooming in to different areas may be higher or lower. I would take temps shown as a guide rather than set in stone figures.

Ti's much cooler today on the coast and more of a breeze and more cloud, humidity seems to have dropped a bit too.

Absolutely stifling and more humod than yesterday here in Gravesend Broadness area aka former record breaking weather recording site not looling forward to a late shift outside in this with no aircon today in Dartford though atleast ill stock up on vitamin D. It was pleasant in Gravesend yesterday with thr Easterly breeze which has departed now sadly maybe here today will be hotter than Saturday as BBC apps showing Easterlies again? Who knows we have our own micro climate here

Sunshine is pretty weak thanks to the cloud, but temperatures are still doing well, around 27/28c.

Horribly humid out there...noticed the headlines are saying 'growing risk of thunderstorms' - yawn! how many times have I heard this during the late Spring and Summer and not a jot! just some rain or drizzle then fresher.

27C at the moment. The weather station is saying the humidity is down from yesterday, but it certainly doesn't feel like it!

Humidity and relative humidity are two separate thing, the latter is probably quite high at the minute.

Dewpoints are lower than yesterday here, they were around 19-20c yesterday, only 15-16c at the moment.

Tell you what I am genuinely utterly surprised by the longevity of this heatwave. I broke all my rules today and closed the windows and blinds and makes a significant difference. 5 days of over 30 a day this late in the summer just absolutely stunning. Was out for a walk this morning and you could see the difference some high level cloud.  Just really don't want this to fizzle out without a decent thunderstorm.. we deserve a decent one to finish the summer. Not holding my breath lol

Quite a notable spell being in September and look out for Saharan dust sun sets.

This was yesterday morning sun rise at 06:30

Quite an oppressive humid heat when in my garden this afternoon. Thick cirrus and altocumulus.
