Good Morning All,

It seemed a refreshing start at 6:15 even though the temp was 18.6c and it has been steadily rising since then and has just reached 26C, here in Coulsdon. I feel sorry for the workman outside who for the next 3 days will be resurfacing the road (not sure its going to set quickly).  I hope everyone enjoys' what might be a record day and manages to stay cool.

Don't think I've ever seen a temperature rise gradient like this approaching 6 degrees an hour according to Chelmsford weather station.

A relatively temperate 24C here, with just the hint of a breeze. With any luck we should get away lightly here as the onshore breeze yesterday was pretty strong around 2-4pm.

Started work at 7.30 and just finished.it’s 40 degrees in the sun and was 30 here just gone 10am.That’s dangerous levels and just got back to a cool house of 24.2( we shut all windows at 6.45 and drew curtains and blinds).Got a lovely cool flannel on my neck as has the dog and atm she seems ok.It’s bad enough for humans but with a thick coat please think of animals in these next 2 days as it’s probably worse for them.On my way home I saw a lady jogging in that heat about 10.30 and I just thought why??🤷🏼‍♂️

stay safe everyone 👍

Temp now at 31c here in Bedfordshire at 10:55am

Took until 12 noon to get to 30c July 2019.

Based on that, very likely to see the record beaten today somewhere in our region.

Looking like we are one of the hottest places in the country right now especially Essex. Maybe the big 40 can be reached?

Cloud running from Devon eastwards south of M4.

High cloud building across wales running west.

Very much doubt it will be blue skies this afternoon, the U.K. is the front runner for producing broken cloud skies on what should be a sunny day.

Looks like models have overestimated the impact of the onshore flow. We were meant to be at 27 but are touching 30.

Less of a problem further inland where the models seem to be spot on.

Right now it looks like two miles inland from the coast the temps match those modelled around 15 miles inland.

After a steady climb in temperature, we hit 28.7C around 30 mins ago.

Temperature is on the way down at the moment - 27C...

Probably the fair weather cloud that’s suppressing temps moving across your area
