Just checked in on our two closest weather stations on Wunderground. They are both showing 33c at 11.30am. I'm giving that a 'wow'. Very slight haze aloft but still very strong sunshine driving those temperatures up. As with others, all the doors and windows are  closed here, blinds and curtains shut, fan on for WFH and a toasty 26c indoors, which will no doubt be climbing fast despite our best efforts. I hope people stay safe (and employers think safe?). Take care of pets too, those pavements are too hot for little paws.

My station in the garden is reading 34.5C. We'd hit 30C by 11am.

Just wow! 😳🥵

Does anyone know what's happening with this cloud? It looks like the cloud top is evaporating.

Anyone else getting that very slight hot burning smell to the air when you first go outside? Only ever experienced it before in the Med.

35 here in South Woodham.
I just washed my hair (I have a lot of long hair) and walked to the Co-op, not even 2 minutes away. By the time I got home my hair was bone dry!

Presently 30.5c here near to the Essex coast...'real' hot day I think will come tomorrow where anything maybe possible, like a sauna in the sun. Dreading this evening when the house seems to build heat by that time...

Me too, I'm ok now because my bedroom/office is north west facing. Windows closed, blinds closed, nice and cool... but once the sun moves into view this evening will be horrible.

No chance of any records going on the Sussex coast. it must be approx 25c There's a lot of cloud about which is hugely disappointing.

Its a normal summers day here!

I'd take that as a positive given other areas with high temps 🙂
