27c in Ipswich before 0900. Alot warmer than the same time yesterday so id imagine the record will be breached.  Last night we all slept well.

House is comfortable 20c having closed all windows and blinds. Outside is like a crematorium

Annnd we've hit 30c just after 9am. Tomorrow is also going to be a hot one on the east coast, unless this cooler air pushes through quicker than the forecast, 29c on my weather app for 1pm, then cooling as 'rain shower expected'.

I'm pretty sure the overnight low record will have gone. This is the local met office weather station to me (about a mile away). i'm sure there are probably warmer ones as well in central London

Yep, 26 is the new record low, ridiculously hot, and was even that and hotter here at the coast at times. But out low was 24 I think.

Actually it was 30 at Langdon at 9:00, didn't think it would go up 2⁰ in an hour on the coast. And that station is less than half a mile as the crow flies from the coast.

If yesterday's temperatures at the same time are anything to go by I reckon we're looking at 4-5C hotter at the peak of the day today. Really wish I hadn't chosen today to fly out of Heathrow!

Well that was an uncomfortable night's sleep. Hoping we at least get a good storm or torrential downpour after this to clear the air and then some cooler but still lovely and warm weather after.

Same here, but if the Apps are anything to go by we remain dry 😞

Recorded 31°C before 9am.  Currently 36°C with inside temperature of 29 (my home office) - and this despite a large fan going full blast 🥵  Yesterday we hit 36C at 2pm.

Think I woke up with heat exhaustion this morning, feel much better now, but when I first woke, had a headache and felt like throwing up. Drunk quite a bit of water since then, but I think I'm gonna be fighting all day to stay on the right side of things now.

36C at bang on 11am here It was 33C at 11:45. Not that it totally makes a comparison but still reasonable confidence from me that I hit 40C. But let's see.

It's too early getting up for me when I misread "courgette" as "cigarette"  😆

Have another coffee😄

I'm now thinking of that spoof episode of Panorama where they had spaghetti growing on trees. Maybe I should plants some cigarette trees?

My neighbouring allotment does have many nicotiana plants though!!

I also think I experienced some heat exhaustion - tried seeing whether I could manage without the fan, but fell asleep and woke up feeling warm but not sweating.  Turned the fan back on and drank a load of water, but, owing to disability, couldn't get up to do much else.

I had  horrible nausea yesterday that would come and go suddenly, better after drinking 2 litres of water throughout the day but unpleasant all the same.
