Don’t want to speak too soon but it feels like it’s possibly starting to slow down a bit…?

I’m aware the red warning is in place until 3 so it may just be a brief lull

Winds are still strong, but we seem to have hit a bit of a lull here. The gusts are not as frequent as they were 20/30mins ago.

Also seem to have had a small lull, but it's come back strong.

Wow! How was that measured..?

There's a small weather station with an anemometer at the top of the tower.

Some really strong gusts now with quite a sustained wind roaring around.

Don't be fooled by a lull the further east you are as the winds whip around the back of the storm as it moves into the north sea there could be some significant gusts.

Quick question, so far not had much here other than a few blustery showers( between Derby, Burton and Ashby de la zouch)

Is the worst over for this area, or is it still on the way?

I’m in Burton it’s starting to pick up a bit now. The peak was meant to be 3pm I think.

So finally plucked up the courage to check my roof. I have up to 10 tiles that seem to have moved, although not completely dislodged. Really need the storm to ease up before they go! Not quite as bad as earlier, but still gusting to 70mph at times, I would guess.

Probably the most exciting weather event since the Beast from the East, spot on to forecast too. Worst is just clearing here now, thankfully no damage.

Winds seemed to decrease between 12:30 and 13:00, but they're roaring again now!!

Trees down nearby, had a huge piece of guttering blow in, but no idea where from. And a huge brick wall has crashed down at my parents' house.  Definitely worth the red warning in my view.

Seems like a total non event here in the Midlands. Just seems like a regular windy day?

Winds swinging now as Storm moves away NE. Winds will pick up significantly

Sorry if already posted but RAF Brize Norton hanger roof ripped off! I live a few miles away and it's still pretty wild here!

I'm also in LB Bexley.

It's gusty but probably not been quite as bad as I expected, and the forecast has things getting slightly better from now.

It really is roaring out there and I am loving it!

As has often been the case just lately, we get weeks of benign and cloudy tedium then Mother Nature returns with a vengeance.

Peoples in E Midlands and E Anglia, any signs of a sting jet?

Nothing yet. Barely noticed much here at all, it's very strange. I'm hoping it stays like this, but still a lot of the day left. Currently in Long Eaton, on the Derbyshire/Notts border.

Meanwhile in another part of the Midlands! Trees down all over IMBY. At least four Worcestershire A roads reported to be wholly or partly blocked by fallen trees just in the last 45 minutes. Many years since it's been this bad.

Edit: make that five!

Everyone carrying on as normal and traffic still the same.
