We've got low cloud and mist now! From Morocco to UK in October in a matter of 4 hours!

The hair dryer holiday heat has been replaced by typical horrible British heat...humid, still and stagnant.

Thanks for this, it was a rather dramatic cool down here. It was literally roasting hot one minute then chilly and windy the next, bliss though.

It's just refusing to cool down, even though we're only an hour from sunset. Racking my brains, what's left of them after the heat, and I honestly can't ever remember a day when it was still *checks* 31 °C at after 8pm.

Waiting for a balance of heat between indoor and outdoor.. 26.5 outdoor vs 24.6 degrees indoor.

Yesterday it took until half 10 for balance.

How can such an energetic couple of days have such a limp breakdown? One might have expected something biblical after that hadean heat.

I mean it was dry heat so ya know dry, usually we get the humid type where as soon as the cold front comes it explodes.

God I’d pray for 26.5c right now to cool the house down! Still mid 30’s here.

To see the contrast between the heat and the less hot air moving in behind this rain band, at the last reading it was 35°c at London City Airport in the east of the city and 30°c at Heathrow in the west.

Huge contrast for one city.

At last some air movement; this could be the evening cooling breeze, so windows open wide and hopefully, it'll rush through the house, esp upstairs.

I was very confused why the models weren't predicting epic storms given the scale of the SW-NE cooldown gradient that was showing up on those same models for this afternoon! (Given my storm-twitchiness I was personally very glad for that - we had just the odd rumble late morning that scared me and turned out totally isolated - but I feel sorry for the storm seekers given how much this could have set up for them!)

Think the front perhaps getting a little more active...2/10 maybe for effort....
