I’d laugh if those storms reached my area without turning into a weak wet fart but we’ll see

Absolute classic Storm sunset in the city of love here in the near continent, just urging anyone on the edge of the MCS to see if they can get a Storm sunset because I think it'll be better than my attempts as I've only got 1 Storm to go on.

A slightly blue tinted one to bring out the red

As the sky got darker I headed to a place with streetlights and water and got this.

Well the whole system split either side of us, hitting Brighton and on the other side dungeoness/Dover, if only it had been darker we would have caught some distant lightning, as it was we had four flashes. Impressive wind pick up and biblical rain briefly but nowhere near as exciting as anything amazing that’s been reported.

It certainly is

I don't know what the reasons are for sunset colours, but I certainly rarely see a proper golden yellow one - usually mine are the peachy, pink affairs.

Looks slightly tornadic with the sudden increase in winds and changing of direction at the end

seeing distant flashes to my far East

We seem to be getting a wrap around 2nd storm from the West now.

We hit the main storm line at Bishop's Stortford on the M11. Driving East on the A120, the rain was totally crazy, with visibility down to a few yards and the road flooded. Lightning was flashing all around. Then the wind hit, pushing the car sideways, trees bent right over and leaves swirling all over the road. Has to rank as one of my worst driving experiences and also possibly one of the most violent storms I've seen in the UK. We had some doubts about making it back.  Luckily it eased as we neared home.
