Some distant lightning from that squall over Lincolnshire this evening.

Just WOW! On a short break in the New Forest, with spectacular views to the South and West, and just had the most amazing thunderstorm experience ever. Knew it was coming so me and my daughter sat in the hot tub, perched on a hillside, and watched it roll in. Once the rain got super biblical we exited hit tub and proceeded to dance around in the storm. Just such a wonderful, memorable experience. The storm passed directly overhead, and was truly awesome. Sadly my phone captures don't quite do it justice but I hope you fellow storm lovers enjoy our insanely unusual storm non-chase 😁

Thunderstorms didn't make it as far north as Lincoln but I saw a fair amount of lightning to the south at around 7:30-7:50pm.

Didn't get to watch or photo the storms 😕  but caught the immense rainfall, and flashes of lightning before work.

On the way to work, the anvils at FL330+ provided an amazing photograph.

Seems like a long long time since any storms made it here, yesterday looked promising, but again failed to deliver.

What's the outlook for the rest of the week?

We were absolutely safe: radar watching and ensuring storm was far enough away to watch safely - as it moved inland we ( as I said) got out of the hot tub. OK, yes we had a dance in the rain when we came out from under our extending roof but tbh, it's a risk many storm enthusiasts take every time they go on a chase: a calculated risk.

And maybe you could have pm'd me to raise your concerns rather than making assumptions.

PS If it was my parenting skills you were concerned about, my daughter is a 19 year old storm chaser.
