Not a bad storm for late October. Hailstones, gusty winds, torrential rain and a crack of thunder. Some mammatus on the back anvil as well when it left.

Nice for once to get a direct hit normally its like the parting of the red sea and a gap appears and we go through that. So one soltary rumble for October but better than nothing.

err nope light showers for us unless they changed it later. The GFS had showers just fringing the west so a bonus.

both showed totally dry all day from quite a long way out so not sure what you were looking at

Had a very small storm here that lasted a few minutes, when that squall line passed through at around 1 ish. Small rumbles and a flash, which didn't register on lightning maps from what I could see anyways. Produced a reasonable amount of rain and became very gusty.

Looks to be (according to Arome and UKV) a few storms tomorrow night, mainly Central Southern Areas, but might still be a few surprises.

Here is my footage from the event... was quite intense must admit one of the strongest storms I've ever experienced in my life!

Great video and a brilliant chase too, well done mate! That storm almost certainly is supercelluar at the start of your footage and the first picture of your stills clearly shows this. There is a distinct wall cloud forming within that structure and also a very strong updraft present too. Thanks for sharing this with all of us and keep chasing too! Cheers.

Not sure about this one. No outlook from Dan or Nick. ECM has a hint of thunderstorms embedded in it. Guessing just heavy rain for most.

Interesting, do think they'll be some enhanced Convection associated with some vorticity ahead of the low so some forcing and decent PWAT suggesting some torrential rain and some alright shearing so might be a few cracks of thunder. Not much CAPE showing on the ECM though just a few hundred at most (don't know why the official ECM site has the map without a key).

Can't get a decent pic, but it's looking particularly dark and stormy to my west right now, really would not be surprised if lightning occurred

Thunder!!

How many thunder days for you this year?

Higher SSTs after the hot summer surely helping developments again.

They base warnings on impact levels, so given it's in the early hours, I think a yellow is fine, IMO.

12 days of thunder heard, 8 storms that have directly hit. One of the most thundery years for a long time!

Yeah I suppose that's true! 80-85mph (offshore but touching the coast) can be damaging though, and would locally be on par with Eunice if it were to transpire as depicted by the UKV. Also bear in mind it's previous run was virtually identical in terms of positioning and intensity... One to watch for certain. For reference, Eunice was a red warning event, which was issued only a few hours in advance with the overnight model runs that day.
