The rain is torrential here too, quite fun and stormy tonight and will hopefully keep humans away from my house; wanting my sweets & chocolate.  If there was chocolate here I would be eating it despite being toxic to canines lol, those rules don’t apply to a Lightning Fox thankfully Could contain: Animal, Toy

Oddly enough, I always find myself hoping for a power cut -- Hallowe'en is after all another money-spinning US import!

PS: @Eagle Eye. But when I grew up, in the 1960s, no-one paid it the slightest attention (It's different in Scotland & Ireland of course -- but that's guising, not Trick or Treat), it was nothing more than a curiosity.👍

Torrential rain and some early wind gusts, not loads but enough to make it a little spooky (volume on videos to hear the wind/rain), a couple scuds as well.

Rain starting to get torrential.

And @Ed Stone , so what?

It gives kids and even people my age lots of fun so I'm happy for it (although I don't do it myself).

It's been a while since I've been on this chat, but I'm back! Anything interesting happening? I'm not entirely hopeful for possible storms tonight... Although I could be wrong, like I was last time!

Some on /off very heavy downpours which dont seem to be dropping from a particular dark cloud, just from random spots in the disturbed sky.

@Ed Stone Halloween originates in Ireland to be fair, don't know exactly what it's like over there today but I think the south have had those spooky wind through the wires sound today if the earlier models were correct. They've had a couple lightning strikes as well.

Some quite heavy rain pushed this far up, bar a dry session for a hour or so inbound.

Very early 80s i used to make a 'pumpikn face' out of Potatoes with a 4mm birthday candel inside it.

My RIP Dad used to go mad Mom used to laugh - but then that was the early 80's as a kid you did what you thought best !

Anyone had any thundery activity? I know Poole got a bit of the action earlier this evening, but it looked to be a minor storm...

I've not got many hopes for tonight - There's a lot of rain around but I don't think it has a good chance of becoming thundery... I'll have to wait and see.

Some potential for some intense Thunderstorms tmrw being mentioned.

Decent CAPE for the time of year, and high speed shear.

A very interesting day.. nice and sunny to start with, then rain, then torrential rain, then thunder, now the wind has really ramped up. Love these types of weather setup's in the autumn.

That would be nice. Proper home-grown storms possible?

These setups in the autumn make the south coast an interesting place to be weather wise imo, if you like this sort of stuff, especially when we have warmer than average sst. Proper weather action.

Yeah squally thundery showers could be quite widespread, perhaps some more organized storms in the south and southeast.

Well we're certainly getting that this year-in fact we appear to back where we finished September (and the end of June) in a sense with a downpour to boost what would otherwise be dry months (October aside).

Awesome. I do enjoy listening to the wind at night! It's already getting pretty strong, and the heavy showers are being slammed into the windows when they come through! I've got nothing but farmland out the back (south facing) so it gets pretty wild when strong winds come in from the southwest!

I'm praying that we get some notably strong wind here too, absolutely love a good autumn storm!
