Seems to be dying in it's backside  on the radar, despite all the warnings of severe weather in the local news.

Most people round here ignore the warnings anyways as they keep being issued and nothing happens

looks like a squall line developing towards Leicester/Peterborough way....East Midlands might join on in on the action soon.

Unfortunately as always we are too far north west to enjoy anything as usual.

Seen a couple of IC strikes to my east. Can faintly hear some distant rumbling.

Try living in the east, it's beyond dire!

Is the line of storms developing further west or is that it now?

And a huge IC flash then

Another one

I tend to try and ignore convective forecasts as so many (like this one) big up the eastern region and follow it up with precisely zilch.

There does seem to be something going on here, we still have lightning and now fresh storm to the west again.

Wouldn’t call today the wildest storm I’ve ever seen -  but I don’t if that’s because I’ve seen worse, or cos we didn’t get the very worst bits of the squall as it passed through 🤔

It was certainly intense at one point, but I’ve been in much worse. The lightning was very bright tho. Also the hail was really big - although it passed by really quickly

What crazy times it's been this week, mental storm Thursday early morning right over head. I caught distant flashes this morning and now a decent ish thunderstorm just clearing north Northamptonshire! Wowzer.

The evolution of today, you can see the Storms forming just below the UK MCS about halfway through that gave me a rumble or two in Paris and that sunset, do kind of wish I'd been in the UK but apparently only a rumble or two where I live anyway.

Looks like storms too far south for us in Lincoln sadly

I'm not so sure. I can see the lightening from my back garden, it's definitely getting closer to us now.

oh really? that's impressive when the band of rain is a good distance, unless its all elevated, is it quite frequent or every so often?

Edited photo of nearby lightning today. Taken by my son and edited by him on his iPhone.
