Been in the countryside at Sutton-in-Ashfield today, and I have felt October and April have basically switched this year. Took until April 7th to see any blooming this year, and there are already blossoms happening now, and we arent even in GMT yet 😲

I dislike cold so the longer the warmth lingers on the better. I don't mind a late winter. Spring is coming!

I either want a proper cold & snowy winter, or a very warm & sunny winter. I have zero interest in a normal boring UK winter.

A boring winter UK is 7c/8c max. Windy. Rainy.  I will take that .

It’s the worst weather imo, chilly rain, yuck. Hate British winters

Same here. Basically waiting for the year when we can get a continually warm winter all the way through to spring.

Low twenties for the next three days before temperatures go up again (maybe 28C on Monday).

So much for that. 15C this afternoon and rain. It's been snowing in some parts of Slovakia below 700m.

It should be 25C again on Thursday but next week is looking much colder.

Yes as much as it was interesting to experience 40c, I wouldn't want that kind of heat regularly. 25c-32c is ideal.

25-32 is pure perfection!

Topped at 26c today Stanstead.

Was it a date record or the latest high temperature?

Wearing a summer dress with short sleeves and bare legs on the 9th of October: this is the life! May it continue, despite the contrary forecasts....

Might be a date record.  I seem to recall somewhere got to around 27C in Lincolnshire just before Ophelia, around the mid month period of course.  The west of course was wet and really windy

EDIT.  Just checked, 26.7 is the record for the 7th, 26.2 for the 8th, 27.8 actually for the 9th.  No records appear to have gone in this spell.  The 10th is 25.6, could this go tomorrow?

I can see the wood burner being lit this weekend if the charts are close to being accurate.

The sun actually made an appearance for the first time properly in 6 days. As a result we reached 21.6C which is the warmest October max since 2018.

Sat outside in my garden and a fog has descended on us. It looked very misty about 10 minutes ago but now I can barely see 50 metres away from me😶‍🌫️

Me right now 😕. Model runs tonight were horrible, building a full on Scandi high BFTE setup...in mid October. After a slightly milder spell in the second half of this week, temperatures will be back to 5C, possibly even below. This feels like a sick joke, it's like we are going to have two Novembers this year 🤢.  The warmth in September feels like a distant memory already and I'm not happy with these temperatures going forward...

Very autumnal day here with spells of quite heavy rain and felt chilly at 15°C. Put the log burner on this evening, heavenly!

I can't see a BFTE in mid October being too disastrous regarding cold. In fact it will probably be breezy with a bit of a nip in the air.

As I've said previously, heat and mild winter seekers have it good with climate change and what you describe will very likely happen.  Myself however, is dreading when that occurs!
