Gonna head for high ground soon and await this storm coming from the SW, good thing about September storms is that darkness is approaching already!

I can see the storm that was near to Doncaster and directly under the anvil flowing off from the storm near to Stoke-on-Trent, the Stoke cell might be a near-miss rather than a direct hit but it's helped take the edge off the humidity.

Somewhere in that direction yep, anywhere with a clear SW view will be fine if the storm survives after sunset 🤞

These storms are very prolific thunder producers, went on a small chase on my bike, nice looking structure but hardly any visible lightning flashes let alone bolts. I’m going to wait for it to get a bit darker before heading out again.

Yeah, It's skirting South of the city, not coming as Northerly, so might not be direct hit, but will be on the periphery.

From my position, the Sun is hazy setting, yet getting middling large blobs rain, while to my South is an unending constant thunder rumbling! Due to how "distant" most of it sounds, I believe a lot of it is elevated, with a couple of cg strikes coming through when it goes more booming.

Anybody played the radar loop on the orginal storm that was heading towards hull. It suddenly diverts from the north east direction and heads off south east which none of the other storms are doing

I wondered about that, too. About the time it was close to Immingham? I'm still not sure whether it was just backbuilding or whether it briefly had some supercellular characteristics.
