Love how the storms kick off as soon as the flow turns to the NE… sigh.

Anyone else find lightning maps et al work really well until the storm is very close by? I'm in Aylesbury and hear/see flashes, only a few so far but no sign on any app?

Both that and cloud bases being elevated too.

Dont think were going to get a direct hit sadly, the storms seem to be moving too far North East unless more cells fire up

OK,I've calmed down now ( a little)

The best storm of the year by some margin ( the fourth) and up there with the best in recent years.

* consrant flashing and rumbling on approach.

* insane wind as the storm hit

* biblical rain rates.

* 10 minutes of fully overhead thunder and lightning.

* two close CG forks and house shaking thunder setting off dogs,cats,waking wife's and toddler and every alarm in the vicinity!

Guessing tonight its mostly all elevated rather than cloud to ground lightning

I would keep a lookout, the flow has changed and storms are heading more northerly now, am watching these new cells currently, pretty sure they will get to us it just depends how electrically active they are 

Lets hope theres still some cape about
