Yes indeed but if the band reaches Hawes we'll probably get something here also unless it struggles to get past the Dales (which is also a possibility).

Long shot, but does anyone remember the bbc/met forecast symbols for 05th January 2010? (showing on 04th jan)

I'm sure it was showing some rain mixed in etc. How different it turned out to be, and very cold air followed the front like it is doing tomorrow.

I remember the MetO forecast being underwhelming, but I also remember checking EURO4 on the evening of 4th Jan and it showing significant accumulations in the NW.

I also remember the late Dianne Oxberry presenting the local Breakfast weather on 5th Jan - very unusual and a measure of just how severe the weather was that day. She must have checked EURO4 too 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you for confirming this! I wonder why bbc/met got it so wrong?  Haha, would Dianne not normally present the weather in mornings? Also, whats the Euro4 model saying this evening and where can I find it 😅🤣

Yes, radar looking tasty, it's developed east of I O Man quickly.  Hope you're wrapped up warm with a hot toddy or 6.

Thanks for this! Christ, she hadn't much of an idea and neither did the BBC. This forecast is so generic, she keeps mentioning heavy snow sweeping southwards but the map behind her showing a rather different picture. She was neither precise with locations either, and no mention of any schools being closed and the brutal temperatures that followed. We were snowed in by 10am and I am low lying Lancs.

Are we any further on in today's forecasting that's the main question I think?

It's on YouTube. She talks as if it would be a dusting.

Haha euro4 is no more sadly.

No she stayed over to avoid being stuck at home and unable to get in. Nearly a foot of snow in south Manc that morning. She presented the breakfast bulletins given the severity of the weather.

How I miss Dan Corbett, John Hammond and Rob McElwee. Mind you, they left when all the snow left so memories stick fondly with those.

Used to make me smile when Dan Corbett called a low pressure "little fella". I miss these old school presenters. I did hear he moved to New Zealand? Could be wrong I know it was overseas though.

-3.6ºC here now; it's really dropped... Typical that it's baltic out and neither cat wants to come in...

That's because both the buggers are upstairs fast asleep on the back bed 😂 & I'm outside checking the garage to see if I've shut them in there/calling for them in the woods...! 😖😂
