Love you're area. Was down the beautiful Elan valley for a week in September when we had the very warm weather early September.  Love Rhayader ,stayed at the horseshoe guesthouse.  Lovely place. Do you live in Rhayader?

I do indeed, next to the River Wye. We are very fortunate indeed to live where we do. It is a lovely town with some spectacular countryside on our doorstep.

Just been up the Elan, it was very special today.

Wow, you lucky person! Thanks for the beautiful photos.  Elan is beautiful anytime of year but with the frost and snow it's simply stunning! Will retire down your way ,fingers crossed!

Snow arriving in light dribbles, if snow can possibly do that.  After a bitter night and morning temps now around 3c.

Currently 0.2C with a dp of 0.0C, high of 0.7C today, colder than the 3C it was forecast yeaterday to be at this time. Still think it will be just rain that falls here as it will warm up as the front approaches.

Oh you lucky people who have either had a glorious frosty morning or even seen some snow. Not really surprisingly I have been condemned once more to cold rain with temps just a tad above for what's needed to make the white stuff. On the other hand, I can see Crib Nantlle now in a thin snow cover, approx. down to 400 m. MetO don't give any hope either, forecasting temperatures to stay at 3 - 4 C with just rain into tomorrow!! Cheesed off!!☹️

I usually do very well being 1000ft ASL and next door to Yr Wyddfa, but not this time. Rain on and off all day with a little bit of wet flakes. Maybe night time cooling will aid later. I never did think this spell was THE spell anyway. Currently heavy snow in Blaenau Ffestiniog though with parts of the A470 closed too. They are further inland there though. Holding out a little hope for tonight, but onto the next chase for me otherwise. Enjoy the snow those who are getting it.

Well it was a poor show earlier…. Just a few bits of teeny tiny snow then gone.  Guess precipitation isn’t heavy enough.  No matter, at least it’s not going to be so darn cold tonight.

Still no precipitation falling here. You can clearly see by the radar its struggling to make much progress because of that cold blocking air. It's gone milder here, that widespread frost cleared at about midday.

Temp up to 0.6C now and DP 0.4C so going just the wrong side of marginal, expect it to keep rising now until the cold rain gets here. Been an impressive day for cold so early in the season though!

The light snow here - according to the radar anyway - is a barely visible mizzle.
