Snap. Spent some time in Collingwood. I mentioned it too back on Thursday. You can just tell from experience how it's acting. It's like its own beast. Nothing like a great lakes snowstorm though.

Loved Collingwood…they’d get about 50cms more than Barrie each year (we got about 2.3m). Kent definitely gets like that when the set up is right here, but never with the temps so low. This far South in Sussex we’re lucky if we get more than a few cms from sea effect snow. I am more hopeful for the setup next week and something coming up off the Chanel.

Do you know if its snowed in london? Been back up north today and wandered what the weather will be like when I get back

Yes it has, mainly light. Not really settled due to lack of intensity.

Yeah I lived in Barrie. Loved it while I was there, but was definitely over the whole clearing snow from my drive at 6:00am in a windchill of -30 so I could get to work, by the time I left.

It's a small world! I've been to the area probably a dozen times with work and guaranteed snow fix in the winter. Drifts as tall as me and I experienced the -30 joy (never leave home without a 'took')

My snow blower had heated handles (as well as lights, 5 forward gears and 1 reverse). When we had a big fall it would take me 30 mins and despite multiple layers my fingers and toes would always be numb when it was more than 20 below.

Laying a little bit on concrete but not grass, most likely a ground too wet problem here in Ashford. Some on the leaves.

Radar returns clearly reducing in the N'Sea/Estuary as the wind now has a more E'ly influence and the cold pool slips away to our west.

A few more light/mod showers to come for our region in the next few hours or so, then a cold night to follow.

Nice to see a dusting for some in our region.

Think its all starting to lose its steam, cold pool has moved west of the essex coast now and as winds turn more east dryer air will come from the east, very low dew points over holland etc at mo,will help dry everything out rest of the week, looking forward to some winter sun tuesday

Yep exactly as I mentioned earlier, all the indications of this was happening right in front of our eyes...

DP's have crashed in the last hour. Down to -4c here in Southend which wont help. Very dry air!

I think the same thing has happened up here; but the downside is that the clouds have flattened out. And got thinner?

Another flop sadly for the NW Kent low lands had some beefy showers at times but temps too high clearly. Glad some others faired well further from the estuary. Still plenty of winter to go

Calling an end to this event IMO opinion is still premature for some. We will see and if it fails I doth my cap.

It feels like winter outside - steady light snow falling and starting to stick in places.

I'm enjoying clearing up the site today.😄

He does state " It’s a wait and see in next few hours, it is unpredictable "

Radar/Sat Images says otherwise

Very dry air also moving into the North Sea too, lower and lower dewpoints :cold-emoji:

We had some sleet and dancing dandruff showers , leaving a small trace here and there. The skies got some clear bits now and the air is much drier. Hopefully some sunshine for Tuesday and Wednesday, and the forecast is for less cold end too the week.

Snowing steadily in Staines now, beginning to settle on cars, presumably as lower temps. Hoping for a thames streamer
